The SibAcademSoft association is a non-profit organization.
Its members are heads of the first-rate IT companies of Siberia. Most
of these companies emerged from scientific institutes of the Siberian
Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences (SBRAS). They bear traditions of
the Russian and Soviet mathematical school. These companies' profound
approach provides the best results in various software development tasks.
The association was founded in the beginning of 2001,
aimed to develop IT business in the Siberian region. Nowadays, one of
its basic trends is conjoint promotion of software and hardware developers
to the foreign market. The main goal of the association is making Siberia
one of the basic grounds of fast IT, infrastructure and education development
in Russia and all over the world. The IT industry, contributing to the
economic potential of the region and the whole country, has all the chances
to achieve state preferences. Firstly, this can be done via giving certain
status to IT development centers (Technopolis, SoftPark); secondly, tax
remissions can be given to the industry as a whole. Only effective cooperation
of all the region's development forces can enable fast and smooth informational
integration of Siberia. Such cooperation only can introduce the region
and the whole country to the world information community and to get all
benefits from using IT on all the levels of authority, economical, and
educational structures.
To resume, the peculiarity of SibAcademSoft is in close
cooperation of IT business, local authorities and the Academy in solving
mutual problems of strategic development.
SibAcademSoft's strategic trends:
- Creation and promotion of the Siberian brand in the Russian and international
IT market.
- Maintaining cooperation between IT companies, SBRAS and local authorities
aimed at development of the Siberian Scientific Center's (SSC) infrastructure
and at improving living standards for the companies' employees.
- Cooperation with local and federal authorities in building infrastructure
for SSC and Siberia as a whole; introduction of effective partnership
aimed at development and implementation of federal IT-development programs.
- Exchanging information and experience with SibAcademSoft's partners
- Russian and international IT associations; organization and participation
in joint projects aimed to improve investment conditions and provide
legal support to IT development in Russia.
- Participation in creation and development of IT educational programs
and centers in the region. Organizational participation in building
human resources for the IT industry.
SibAcademSoft's basic activities:
- Creating the image of Novosibirsk, Siberia and the whole country
as a world-wide IT center; contributing to development of the participating
companies and their promotion to the Russian and foreign market.
- Transformation of socio-economic and political conditions aimed to
future development of the Siberian IT industry. In particular, it is
development of the social security system for the employees (to stop
the "brain-drain" process) and support of social projects.
- Preparing qualified human resources for the Siberian and Russian
IT companies.
- Contribution to developing and using the scientific potential of
the Siberian region.
